Afghanite

Fluoresces orange due to the disulfide ion. Exactly the same activator as with sodalite, meionite var. Wernerite, nosean, hauyne and members of the sodalite family in general.

The crystal is about 5 cm in diameter.

Locality: Koksha Valley, Khash & Kuran Wa Munjan Districts, Badakhshan, Afghanistan.
